ICMR is dealing with biomedical/ health research in various areas, in collaboration with National/ International agencies, through its Headquarters at New Delhi and 27 Institutes/ Centres and a large number of field stations, situated across the country.

ICMR invites online applications, from Indian Citizens, up to 16.02.2024 till 5:30 PM to fill up the following one vacancy of Scientist-C (Bioethics)(Non-Medical) for posting in ICMR Bioethics Unit, Bengaluru in Level 11 of Pay Matrix (Rs.67,700 - 2,08,700) and usual allowances as admissible to ICMR employees for appointment on regular basis under Direct Recruitment with all India transfer liability under the Council

Position - Scientist-B (Bioethics) Non-Medical

Essential Qualifications: Master's from a recognized University in any of the subjects as given in Annexure- I

Desirable Qualifications: Ph.D. from a recognised University in the subjects as given in Annexure-I

Essential Experience: 4 years experience in Research Ethics/ Bioethics in Govt/Public Sector/Private Institutions

Notes :

• PhD will be considered as 4 years experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree)vf.
• MPH/M. Tech/ME will not be considered as any experience.
• Experience in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences, relevant to the Job requirements (Degree/ Diploma/ Fellowship in Bioethics/ Research ethics) in Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions will be admissible.

Job Description:
To plan, develop, and implement initiatives related to the development of ethics policy/ guidance and building capacity in Bioethics.

Selection Procedure:

• The Selection would be made based on computer-based written test (MCCis) or interview or both
• Written test, if conducted, would be based on the understanding of research methods and will be qualifying and the minimum qualifying would be 75 percentile.
• The top 12 candidates from among the above-qualified list who are otherwise eligible based on their qualifications/ experience would be called for interview.

Fee:

Application fee (non-refundable) of Rs.1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) is required. SC/ST/Women/PwBD/EWS candidates are exempted from the application fee. Application Fee is to be paid by candidates through online Iink given in the application form.

Other conditions:

• The application should be submitted along with online application fees, through online mode on https://recruit.icmr.org.in/
• AppIIcation received after the closing date, for whatever reason, is liable to be rejected.
• An incomplete or Application without supportive documents is liable to be rejected.
• Relevant documents of educational qualification/specialization/ 9xperience, as, claimed must be invariably uploaded.
• At the time of personal discussion the applicants working in the Centre/State Government Department/ Public Sector Undertakings & Govt. funded research agencies, must submit a "No Objection Certificate" from the employer with an undertaking that "the applicant will be relieved within one month of his/her receipt of appointment order".
• Any outside influence (political or otherwise), brought in by a candidate or on behalf of the candidate shall disqualify him/her.
