Qualification and Experience:

For the post of Associate Professor:

Eligibility criteria:

• Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout, in addition to proven track record of excellent research ability and leadership skills.
• Minimum 6 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade-I / Senior Scientific Officer/ Senior Design Engineer.

Salary Structure: Pay Level 13A2 with an initial pay of ₹ 1,39,600/-

For the post of Professor:

Eligibility criteria:

• Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout, in addition to proven track record of outstanding research ability and leadership skills.
• Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc, Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institution/ Institutions of comparable standard, as may be so decided by the Institute.

Salary Structure: Pay Level 14A with an initial pay of ₹ 1,59,100/-

Selection Process:

The applications received for a particular Department are shortlisted by the Departmental Faculty Affairs Committee (DFAC) based on the overall suitability that includes several components such as the application, seminar/interaction, and inputs from faculty members of the Department. Institute Faculty Affairs Committee (IFAC) reviews the report submitted by the DFAC and takes a decision on further shortlisting of candidates for an interview. 

Application submission and deadline:

1. This is a rolling advertisement. Hence, there is no last date to apply. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. However, the processing of the applications will be done in two half-yearly cycles i.e. applications received during 1st January to 30th June of a given year shall be considered as a single batch and processed on or after 1st July of that year. Similarly, the applications received during 1st July to 31st December of a given year shall be considered as a single batch and processed on or after 1st January of the following year.

2. The closing dates of the half-yearly cycle i.e. 30th June and 31st December of a given year shall be the date for establishing the eligibility in terms of qualification and experience.
